The podcast
In this podcast we will review and address the common problems you and adopted children have, such as identity issues, trauma, feelings of rejection and divided loyalties, your own fear of losing your child if they search for their biological family, and their fear of being rejected again by their adoptive family. You will be privy to some practical ways to communicate effectively with your adopted child of any age. You will understand the importance of and learn the method of validating your child’s feelings in a way that helps him or her feel fully heard and understood. You will be encouraged to take care of yourself so you are no longer pouring from an empty cup. You will also connect with the Holy Spirit to do what we humans simply can’t. God will make a way, and this podcast is one part of that journey.

Welcome to Faithful Futures!
My name is Ligia (pronounced "Lia") and I’ve had a heart for children since I was a child myself! When babysitting led to a decision to do more for kids as I got older, I became a certified teacher, working in the public school system for over a decade in Texas. This gave me the opportunity to work with students and families from all different backgrounds, and I learned that kids are hurting. They need help, so I became a Licensed Professional Counselor and have worked with parents, children, and adolescents daily! I bring them healing and joy with my expertise and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Now I have opened the doors of a coaching program for adoptive families! I want to help more families at a time with the common problems that occur with adoption, such as identity issues, feelings of rejection, and growing up feeling “different” from the rest of the family.
In my spare time, I love traveling with my husband and three sons, singing karaoke and at church for the children’s ministry, and cuddling on the couch with my dogs watching documentaries about just about anything!
